Every Project Has a Story Behind it

Boundaries: A Scene Recreation

Well dogs my cats.

In class, we were assigned to recreate a scene from one of professor Greg Durbin's short films called Boundaries (2000). At first, I wasn't super stoked to take on this project because the lighting seemed pretty flat and boring to try and recreate. But aside from the lighting, it totally forced me to really study the focal lengths and depth compression of each shot to accurately match the original.

We took Studio C by storm at 7:45 am. Got the hard stuff out of the way first by setting up this butterfly beast above the set

Behind the Scenes

This last shot of the day had a lot of things going on! To get this dolly move we coordinated focus changes, lighting switches, and fan cues
